Elizabeth Taylor. She was born about 1625 in England. She was found on a passenger list on 9 May 1635 for The Susan & Ellen out of London. Elizabeth was tried, found guilty, and fined 10/ on 27 September 1653 for wearing a silk hood and scarf. She was of too low a station to wear such finery according to the law.
Issue:
1. Joseph Swett (1658-1716)
2. Benjamin Swett (1660-____) |
- Anderson (2011) states there is no record of Elizabeth Taylor found in New England. The published Boston and Newbury records do not show the marriage, however Stackpole (1913) states it was in October 1851 in Newbury. As the Elizabeth Taylor reported by Anderson (2011) was 10 when she was listed on the passager manifest, then she was 26 at the time of the wedding. I am assuming they are one in the same person, but I have no proof.
