    Claude Bouchard, the son of Jacques Bouchard and Noëlle Touschard. He immigrated in 1650 to Québec, Canada, from France. In March 1650, he and Julian Fortin heard a lecture by Sir Robert Giffard about Canada, and volunteered to go to New France. A contract for the marriage of Claude and Louise Gagné was signed on 30 October 1653 in Beaupré, Québec, Canada.
