  • Notes
    • Marriage: It is probable that Thomas never married. Savage stated that he married Martha Knott based on George Knott's will, and many others have followed suit. The will states that they were not married at that time. Further, the the Plymouth Colony Record on 4 October 1648, state "The Court have ordered, concerning Thomas Dunham, that hee abstaine from coming atte or sending unto Martha Knote of Sandwiche from this present day unti the first Tuesdayof Desember next, untell the court can better deserne the treuth of his pretended contracte with the said Martha Knot, unless the Gouvrner, uppon clearing of thinges, shall give him leave." Two years later, Thomas Tobye and Martay Knott were married on the 18 November 1650. [1, 3]
