He was one of the 32 pirates sent to England on the HMS Advice, and were incarcerated in Newgate Prison. On June 21, 1700, 24 pirates including Joseph Bradish went on trial. Twenty-one were convicted and sentenced to die. King William pardoned 11 of the 21. (Unfortunately Joseph's name was not among them). On July 12 the 10 pirates were placed in carts and driven through the streets of London to Execution Dock in Wapping and there hung. |

- He was hung as a pirate. One of those hung was James Kelley, alias James Gilliam, a notorious pirate. "Kelley's companion in death was Joseph Bradish, who was executed and displayed with Kelley hanging in chains at Gravesend, on the king's orders as a greater terror to others."
