William Anthony Sigmund

     William Anthony Sigmund was born on 31 January 1906 at Allegheny City, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.^1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of William Thomas Sigmund and Katherine Marie Kaiser. William, age 4, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at 76 Valley Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, William Thomas and Katherine Marie Sigmund.⁶ William, age 14, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at 622 Chestnut Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his mother, Katherine Marie Sigmund.⁷ William, age 24, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 622 Chestnut Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his divorced mother, Katherine Marie Sigmund. He was an electrician.⁸

William Anthony Sigmund married Catherine Sahr, daughter of Albert M. Sahr and Margaret Elizabeth Merdian.



William, age 33 years, and Catherine, age 29 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 1119 Newcomer Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.¹¹ According to the Federal Census in 1940, William was an electrician.¹¹ On on 16 October 1940, William registered for the World War II draft, while living at 1119 Emporia Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, giving his age as 35 and his employer as Day and Zimmerman.⁵ William, age 43 years, and Catherine Sahr, age 39 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 at 225 Scotia Street, Ingram, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.¹² According to the Federal Census in 1950, William was an electrical worker.¹² In 1992, the year William died, he lived at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.² He died on 29 July 1992 at age 86.^2,3,4 William was buried at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.³
