Pharaoh Necho II was born in 660 BCE at Egypt.1 He was the son of Pharaoh Psamtek I and Mehetenweskhet. Pharaoh Necho II was also known as Wehen.ib.re.1 Necho was crowned the Pharaoh of Egypt 610 BCE.1
Pharaoh Necho II married Chedebnitjerbone I.1 In the battle of Megiddo, he defeated Josiah, King of Judea. In 605 BCE, he was defeated in the battle of Carchemish by Nebuchadressar, but in 601 BCE, he defeated Nebuchadressar securing the Egyptian boarders. He began the construction of a canal to the Red Sea, and during his reign, an Egyptian fleet circumnavigated Africa in a 3 year voyage.1 Pharaoh Necho II died in 595 BCE.1
