She was the daughter of Owen Carlos Wilson and Edith C. Cooper.1 Norma, age 4, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at Rosslyn Avenue, Springdale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Owen Carlos and Edith C. Wilson.5 Norma, age 14, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 425 Ridge Avenue, Springdale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, Owen Carlos and Edith C. Wilson.6 Her married name was Brindle.
Norma Edith Wilson married John George Brindle Jr., son of John George Brindle and Ethel McMichael.
Normamoved to Berwick Retirement Village II, Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, in July 2003.3 She died on 27 December 2007 at Berwick Retirement Village II, Berwick, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, at age 92.3,4 Norma's obituary of 29 December 2007, reads:
Norma E. Wilson, 92, of Berwick, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at the Berwick Retirement Village II, where she had been a resident since July 2003.
She was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Owen C. and Edith Cooper Wilson.
As a young woman, she worked at an aluminum plant in Pittsburgh during World War II. When she moved to this area, she lived in Raven Creek for 20 years before moving to Berwick, where she worked : as s a nurse's aide at the Berwick Hospital. She also worked as a caregiver for various families in the area, including the Freas sisters for several years.
She enjoyed reading and writing long letters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John W. Brindle; a stepson, Boyd Davis; two brothers: Robert and Owen Wilson; four sisters: Bernice Miller; Eva Beitz; Jean Taylor; and Clara Young.
She is survived by two sons: Woodrow O. Davis and his wife, Anna, of Benton; Robert P. Davis of Berwick; a stepson, Fred Davis, and his wife, Millie, of Shickshinny; four daughters: Marion R. Balcom of Burlington, N.C; Clara B. Paden and her husband, Fred, of Berwick; Norma E. Jones and her husband, Darryll, of Stillwater; Helena R. Fisher of Berwick; 11 grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; a brother, William Wilson, and his wife, Peg, of Florida; two sisters: Edith Messier of South Dakota; and Emma Beitz of Millville.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home, 1024 Market St., Berwick.
