Alfred Burnett was born on 14 April 1851 at Alburgh, Vermont.1,2 He was the son of François Bonin and Zoe Babin dite LaCroix. Alfred Burnett was christened on 9 September 1851 in the Église de Saint-Grégoire-le-Grand, Mont-Saint-Grégoire, Québec, Canada.3 Alfred Burnett went by the nick-name of Fred. Alfred, age 7, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Alburgh, Vermont,in the household of his parents, Franklin and Zoe Burnett.4 Alfred, age 19, appeared on the US Census of 1870 living at Altona, Clinton County, New York,in the household of his parents, Frank and Zoe Burnett.5
Alfred Burnett married Mary E. Taylor, daughter of Francis-Xavier Taylor and Cecilia M. Gagnier, in 1879.
Alfred, age 28 years, and Mary Burnett, age 20 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Altona, Clinton County, New York.6 Alfred, age 48 years, and Mary Burnett, age 40 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Rockingham, Vermont. According to the Federal Census in 1900, Alfred was a pulp grinder.1
