     Daniel Briggs Jr. was born on 14 October 1814 at Minoit, Massachusetts (Maine).1,2,3,4 He was the son of Daniel Briggs and Rhoda Elizabeth Larrabee.

Daniel Briggs Jr., age 24, married Fidelia Woodman, age 20 , daughter of Jacob Woodman and Hannah Hatch, on 30 December 1838 at Auburn, Maine.

Daniel appeared on the US Census of 1850 living at Auburn, Maine,in the household of his parents, Daniel and Rhoda Elizabeth Briggs.6 Daniel's wife, Fidelia, died on 4 April 1854.1,7,3,8

Daniel married second on 30 November 1854 at Turner, Maine, Lydia Blossom, the daughter of Alden and Lydia Davis (Stevens) Blossom. She was born in 25 May 1829 and died 29 May 1879. She is buried in Briggs Cemetery, Auburn, Maine.9,10,11,3 Daniel, age 45 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Auburn, Maine, living with his second wife, and children.12 Daniel, age 55 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Lewiston, Maine, living with his second wife, and children. He was a farmer.13 Daniel, age 65 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Turner, Maine. He was a farm laborer and a widower.14 Daniel, age 85 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 on 146 North Street, Mechanic Falls, Maine, living with his daughter , Annetta and her husband. He was a farm laborer and a widower.2 He died on 10 December 1907 at Mechanic Falls, Maine, at age 93 from broncho pneumonia.7,3 He was buried at Briggs Cemetery, Auburn, Maine. Daniel's epitaph reads:
