David Whelpley was born circa 1729 at Greenwich, Connecticut Colony. He was the son of Jonathan Whelpley and Martha Pennoyer.
David Whelpley married Abigail ______ in 1780.1 David wrote his will on 4 February 1785 at Greenwich, Connecticut.2 He died before 23 February 1785 at Greenwich, Connecticut.1 His estate was probated on 23 March 1785 at Stamford, Connecticut.2
