Stephen Clason was born on 1 December 1736 at Stamford, Connecticut Colony.2,3,4,5,1,6 He was the son of Stephen Clason and Ruth James.1
Stephen Clason, age 26, married Martha Whelpley, daughter of Jonathan Whelpley and Martha Pennoyer, on 9 December 1762 at the Stamford, Connecticut Colony.
Stephen served in 1776 in Captain Webb's Company, Col. John Mead's 9th Regiment of the New York Militia. In 1777 he was serving in a Connecticut Regiment.8 Stephen, appeared on the US Census of 1790 at Stamford, Connecticut. The enumeration reads:
Stephen wrote his will on 25 August 1807 at Stamford, Connecticut.10 He died on 24 October 1809 at Stamford, Connecticut, at age 72.3,11,4,5,1,6 He was buried at Roxbury Cemetery, Stamford, Connecticut. Stephen's epitaph reads:
His will was proved on 16 May 1811 at Stamford, Connecticut.10
