Henry Whelpley married Sarah Howes, daughter of Robert Howes and Priscilla Wright, on 1 May 1661.4 In May 1663, had a power of attorney from his father, James. It seems that James forfeited a bond of £150 which he had given for his appearance, and his housing and land were ordered sold. he had been accused of a capital crime, presumably witchcraft.7 He received a colonial grand of 50 acres in May 1669, probably for service in the Pequot War.7 In May 1681, he was granted 200 acres for service to the colony in Mattebeseck (Waterbury). This probably refers to a punitive expedition of 100 men sent out in August 1639 as a sequel to the Pequot War.7 Henry Whelpley died on 6 June 1682 at Fairfield, Connecticut Colony.1,2
