Keziah E. Travis

     Keziah E. Travis was born on 30 April 1847 at Sullivan County, New York.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Travis and Eliza Maria Schoonmaker. Keziah, age 3, appeared on the US Census of 1850 living at Fallsburgh, Sullivan County, New York,in the household of her parents, William and Eliza Maria Travis.³ Keziah E. Travisappeared on the census of 1855 in the household of an unknown person and Eliza Maria Schoonmaker.⁴ Keziah, age 13, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York,in the household of her parents, William and Eliza Maria Travis.⁵ As of 1865,her married name was Carman.¹ Keziah, age 21, appeared on the US Census of 1870 living at Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York,in the household of her parents, William and Eliza Maria Travis.⁶

Keziah E. Travis married Stephen W. Carman. They had no children together.¹ Keziah, age 32 years, and Stephen Travis, age 57 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York.⁷ Keziah, age 52 years, and Stephen Travis, age 77 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, with her children.² Keziah, age 57 years, appeared on the New York State Census of 1905 with her children. Her marital status is listed as married, but Stephen is not on the return.⁸ Keziah, age 62 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at 20 Lammon Street, Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, with her children. She was a widow.⁹ Keziah, age 67 years, appeared on the New York State Census of 1915 at Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, with her children and two boarders.¹⁰ Keziah, age 72 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 21 Clinton Avenue, Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, with her children. She was a widow, and had taken in three boarders.¹¹ Keziah, age 77 years, appeared on the New York State Census of 1925 at Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, with her son, Harvey, and daughters Minnie and Katherine.¹² She died on 6 June 1926 at Wawarsing, Ulster County, New York, at age 79.¹³
