Nicholas Augur was born say 1584 at West Ham, Newham, Greater London, England.1 He was the son of Nicholas Augur and Elizabeth ______.1 Nicholas Augar who received a B.A. from St. John’s College, Cambridge, 1608–09, and M.A. in 1612. He was
incorporated at Oxford in 1612.1 While attending St. John’s College he gave testimony as a witness to a riot that occurred near Trinity Gate in 1610 in which there were serious injuries.1
Nicholas Augur married Anne ______ on 8 February 1623/24. Their daughter Anna was christened at St. Stephen Coleman Street, London on 8 February 1623/24.1 Nicholas wrote his will on 19 June 1663. Besides his wife Anne and daughters Elizabeth Maydwell and Anne Simons, Nicholas mentioned his cousin John Augur and the latter’s four children (three sons and a daughter; not named), and his brother John Augur’s son Nicholas, then residing in New Haven in New England.1 He was buried on 3 February 1663/64 at All Hallows Church, London, England. in the church in the “uper end of the Midell Isle Just at the foote of the first Stepp." Nicholas was a schoolmaster in the parish of All Hallows Lombard Street, London, at the time of his burial.1 His will was proved on 16 February 1663/64.1
