Jacob Hathaway was born in 1675 in the garrison house his parents had taken refuge in during King Philip's War.1 He was the son of John Hathaway and Hannah Burt.1
Jacob Hathaway married Phillis Chase, age 17 , daughter of Benjamin Chase and Philpa Sherman, on 28 January 1696/97 at Taunton, Massachusetts.1 Jacob wrote his will on 5 October 1754 at Freetown, Massachusetts.1
