     Louis Roy was born on 23 January 1740 at Charlesbourg, Québec, New France.1,2 He was christened on 23 January 1740 in the Église Saint-Charles-Borromée, Charlesbourg, Québec, New France.2 He was the son of Louis-Joseph Roy and Marie-Jeanne Pepin.1

Louis Roy, age 25, married Marie-Marguerite-Madeleine Merdieu, age 20 , daughter of Jean-Baptiste Merdieu and Marie-Madeleine Barbeau, on 13 January 1766 at the Église Saint-Charles-Borromée, Charlesbourg, Québec, British North America.
