Catherine Laîné was christened on 6 February 1654 at Église Sainte-Croix-des-Pelletiers, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, Normandy, France.1,3,2 She was the daughter of Jeawn Laîné and Marie Renault.2 Catherine, a Filles du Roi (King's Daughter), immigrated in 1671 to Québec, New France, bringing goods for a dowry worth an estimated 300 livres.2 A contract for the marriage of Catherine Laîné and Jacques Bluteau was signed on 21 October 1671. The contract was annulled before the marriage.2
Catherine married first on 23 November 1671 at Sainte-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Québec, New France, Étienne Mesny, son of Jean Mesny and Marie Cané.3 A contract for the marriage of Catherine Laîné and Jean Paré was signed on 10 May 1709. Jean could sign his name, but Catherine could not.3
Catherine Laîné, age 55, married Jean Paré, age 53 , son of Robert Paré and Françoise Lehoux, on 23 May 1709 at Sainte-Famille-de-l'Île-d'Orléans, Québec, New France. They had no children together.1 Catherine Laîné died on 23 March 1746 at age 92.2 She was buried on 24 March 1746 at Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Québec, New France.3
