Herbert B. Morris

     Herbert B. Morris was born on 23 June 1875 at Maidsville, Monongalia County, West Virginia. His birth was recorded in Cass was Maidsville is unincorporated.^2,3,4,5 He was the son of Morris Morris and Harriett A. Everly.¹ Herbert, age 8, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at Cass, Pocahontas County, West Virginia,in the household of his parents, Morris and Harriett A. Morris.⁶

Herbert B. Morris married Elizabeth Myers, daughter of Lucas Myers and Mary Huffman, in 1900.

He gave his age as 43; and his employer as the P.V. & C. Railroad where he was a signal man.³ Herbert Morris, 44 years, appeared as Head of Household with Elizabeth, his wife, on the United States Census of 1920 at Railroad Street, West Elizabeth, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.⁸ According to the Federal Census in 1920, Herbert was a pipe fitter in a steel mill.⁸ Herbert Morris, 54 years, appeared as Head of Household with Elizabeth, his wife, on the United States Census of 1930 at 9313 Van Kirk Street, Clairton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.⁹ According to the Federal Census in 1930, Herbert was working in a steel mill.⁹ He died on 7 February 1940 at Clairton, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at age 64.⁴ Herbert was buried at Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.¹⁰
