He was a farmer.⁴ Charity, age 69 years, and John Oakes, age 74 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, He was a farmer.⁵ Charity, age 74 years, appeared on the New York State Census of 1865 at Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, with her son, Edward and his family.⁶ Charity, age 79 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Brookhaven, Suffolk County, New York, with her daughter-in-law and family.⁷ She died on 12 January 1878 at Stony Brook, Suffolk County, New York, at age 87.³ Charity was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Stony Brook, Suffolk County, New York.³
