He was the son of Captain Thomas Hale and Sarah Northend.1
Joshua Hale, age 25, married Hannah Woodman, age 23 , daughter of Deacon Archelaus Woodman and Hannah Swett, on 13 October 1726 at Newbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay.
Joshua was a farmer.10 He died on 20 April 1742 at Newbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay, at age 41.3,1,10,6 He was buried at Newbury Neck Cemetery, Newbury, Massachusetts. Joshua's epitaph reads:
His estate was administered by his wife, Hannah, on 17 May 1742 at Essex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.1 His estate was inventoried on 5 July 1742 at Newbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay, and valued at £694 14/4d.1
