• Complier's Note: 1995; Walter Davis could not find proof that her name was Mary. He did not that a John Emorye and an Alice Grantam were married 26 June 1620 at Whiteparish, Wiltshire, England which is about eight miles from Romsey. Could Alice have been Mary?

This date is doubtful. It is not found in the Newbury vital records, and John was fined in 1646 for paying too much attention to a married woman. We might assume he was single at this time.
