    In consequence of having divided the Wearing Apparel of our Parents, Ebenezer Kent & Esther Kent, Late of Leicester, Deceased, by mutual agreement & having each & individually Rec'd. our full share of the same, do covenant & agree that we are fully satisfied so far as respects the said Wearing Apparel & do acquit & discharge each other for his share of the same.

    History:
    In the Spring of 1803, after his marriage, he and his bride moved to Wallingford, Vermont. When he went to Wallingford he bought a lot near the summit of one of the high hills in the east part of the town, then a wilderness, and plying his axe to the stately timber with a will soon had quite an opening, and his first house was of logs covered with bark. In after years they built a frame house in which they lived until the spring of 1849, when having sold his farm he moved to Wallingford village and lived with his son Elias W. until he died.

    In 1828, Elias Kent was the first and only deacon of the church. He served for many years.

    In the 1850 Census he is listed as 70 years old.

    He died of a hernia.

    Elias married Betsey Wheaton on 20 Jan 1803. Betsey (daughter of Christopher Wheaton and Abigail Brewer) was born on 30 Aug 1781 in Leicester, Worcester County, Massachusetts; died on 5 Feb 1872 in Mount Holly, Rutland County, Vermont; was buried in Green Hill Cemetery, Wallingford, Rutland County, Vermont, U.S.A..
