  1. 1.  Charles Hatch was christened on 5 Sep 1613 in Newton Ferrers, Devonshire, England (son of Capt. John Hatch and Anne); died in 1654 in probably at sea.

    Other Events and Attributes:

    • History: say 1632; While still under the apprenticeship of Clement Penwill of Newton Ferrers, Charles sailed on board the Welcome to the Richmond Island plantation, now in Maine, of Robert Trelaway of Plymouth. There he worked as a fisherman. During his stay, money was sent back to Newton Ferrers to help pay off his apprenticeship. In September 1634, having come of age, Charles returned to England. There he married, though we know not her name. In 1636, he returned with his brother, Philip. During this time, he was cited several times for not sending money back to England for the support of his wife. On 29 June 14, the court ordered his brother, Phillip to administer the estate of Charles.
