He first settled in Watertown, Mass. where he was a proprietor in 1647. He deposed in 1656 at the age of 38 years. He removed to Groton, Mass. in 1662. There he was given liberty to erect a mill. He removed to Charlestown, Massachusetts, after the destruction of Groton, Mass. during King Philip's War. He died on Saturday 11 June 1678 in Charlestown, Massachusetts. He died of smallpox. The inventory of his estate was taken 25 July 1678.
