    History:
    In 1864, he enlisted in the 4th Vermont Regiment, and served under Sheridan. He was wounded at the Battle of Cedar Creek. After the battle, he was taken to a hospital in Baltimore. IN 1865, he was discharged, and returned to Munroe, Massachusetts, however he never fully recovered from his wounds,

    About 1895, they moved to Boston.

    His obituary reads:

    "Died 7 June 1919 in Los Angeles, CA Otis Littlejohn

    Capt. Harry M. Hebard of fire engine 46, Ashmont, last evening received a telegram announcing the death, in Los Angeles, of his father-in-law, Otis Littlejohn, retired farmer and veteran of the civil war. Mr. Littlejohn was in his 88th year and spent most of his life on farms in western Massachusetts.

    He was born in Colerain, Aug. 15, 1831 and was educated there. His father, William Littlejohn, was a veteran of the war of 1812. Mr. Littlejohn married Miss Betsy Sherman Goodell of Monroe in 1853, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Amherst Lamb, at Whitingham, Vt. He served in the civil war in the 4th Vermont regiment; fought under Sherman (sic) and was wounded at the battle of Cedar Creek. He never entirely recovered from his wound.

    For several years past except when visiting in Dorchester he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Everett Lee of Los Angeles. Besides Mrs. Lee, he is survived by five other daughters, Mrs. William Ames of Stoughton, Mrs. Harry M. Hebard of 736 Norfolk street, Mattapan; Mrs. Fred Briggs of North Adams, Mrs. Joseph Bradeen and Mrs. William Bramble of Dorchester, and two sons, Halbert Littlejohn of Greenfield and Ernest Littlejohn of Los Angeles. There are also 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren"

    Otis married Betsey Sherman Goodell on 8 Aug 1852 in Whitingham, Windham County, Vermont. Betsey (daughter of Harvey Goodell and Anna "Annie" Sherman) was born on 14 May 1833 in Monroe, Franklin County, Massachusetts ; died on 1 Sep 1914 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.
