    He was appointed the Lay Abbot of St. Martin de Marmoutier near Tours.

    Miscellaneous:
    He revolted against Charles the Bald, inviting Charles' brother Ludwig to invade Neustria. After the brothers made peace, Robert was restored to favor and given the defense of Neustria against the Normans.

    Died:
    He was killed in the Battle of Brissarthe against the Normans.
