While a vassal of both the King of France and the King of England, when the two went to war in 1159, he sided with Henry II of England. He handed his castles over to Henry thus causing Louis II to make a truce. In 1175, he joined the revolt of the "young king", but was captured. In 1177 he attended the treaty of Ivry. |
