He farmed the Honor of Haughley, Suffolkshire between 1184 and 1188. As surety for the debts of Simon, Earl of Northampton, he is often mentioned in the Pipe Rolls. Robert was in debt to the Jews and assumed the debt of his father to the Crown. He made grants to the Greenfield Priory, to Bardney Abbey, and to King William Rufus. |
