Ensign Moses Sweat, the son of John and Judith (Young) Sweat. He was born on 28 March 1740 in Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He was possibly the "cordwainer" who bought land in Chester, New Hampshire on 11 April 1763, and sold it in 1765. He and Priscilla Hatch filed marriage intentions on 30 January 1770 in Wells, York County, Maine. He lived in 1772 in Sanford, York County, Maine. He was an Ensign during the Revolution. He died in Granby, Canada, at the home of his son, John.
Hosier (1993) gives their marriage date as 15 March 1770.
