On 3 April 1722 William Harmon of Wells was bound over to the court Upon Suspition for comiting carnel Copulation with Mary the Daughter of David Littlefield. He appeared in court 2 October 1722, but there was not sufficent evidence to convict him, and he was acquitted. John Wells Jr. testified that William had a poweder and told him that it would make the gules [girls] love him.
Mary Littlefield appeared at the same time to answer to her having had a bast'd child, she owned to the fact. |
