John Foss. Tradition says that John was a calker, who deserted a British warship in Boston harbor and settle in Rye, New Hampshire. He was born about 1634/35. He was an innkeeper between 1694 and 1698 in Rye. He served in 1698 in Rye, New Hampshire, as a Selectman. He left a will on 13 September 1710 in Rye, New Hampshire.
