- He was hanged for the murder of three Indians squaws and their three children. Stephen and three other soldiers confessed. Daniel Goble, his brother and the ring leader was also hanged. On the same scaffold that day, One-Eyed John, an Indian who lead the raid on Lancaster, was hanged.
