Deacon Richard Ward, the son of Deacon John and Hannah (Jackson) Ward. He was born on 15 November 1666 in Cambridge Village, now Newton, Massachusetts. Paige (1877) gives his birth as 15 January 1662, and Gozzaldi (1930) follows suit. He served in 1698 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a Surveyor of Highways. He served in 1704 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a Tithingman. He served in 1705 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a Constable. He served between 1710 and 1711 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a Selectman. He served again from 1723 to 1729.7 He served in 1712 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a member of the Committee to Seat the Meeting House. He served again in 1725. He served between 1713 and 1715 in Newton, Massachusetts, as an Assessor. He served again between 1717 and 1722.7 He served between 1719 and 1720 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a member of the Highway Committee. He served in 1720 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a member of the School Committee. He served in 1721 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a member of the Committee to Dispose of the Old Meeting House. He served in 1723 in Newton, Massachusetts, as a member of the Committee to Select a Site for the New School House. He served between 1724 and 1725 in Newton, Massachusetts, as the Town Moderator.
