    • In September 1333, he was granted the South Wales castles of Grosmont, Skenfrith, and Kidwelly other lands in the area by his father. [1]
    • In March 1337, he was created the Earl of Derby. [1]
    • On 6 March 1350, he was made the Duke of Lancaster by Edward III. [1, 3]
    • In the mid-1350s, he transformed the hospital his father had founded in the Newarke at Leicester in 1331, into a college of secular canons in honor of the annunciation of St. Mary. [1]
    • On 24 March 1356, the king granted permission for Henry and Isabel to alienate their joint manor of Hannington in Wiltshire to the new college. [1]
    • From autumn 1359 to November 1360, he was on the continent and took part in the Reims campaign of Edward III. [1]
    • On 15 March 1361, he dictated his will, having returned to Leicester Castle, seriously ill from a new outbreak of the plague. [1]

    • King Edward III, Queen Philippa, and the royal family was in attendance. [1]
    • The College of the Annunciation of St. Mary in Newarke, Leicester endured for almost two centuries. The college was suppressed under the Act for the Dissolution of Chantries, and ceased to exist. The church and many of the other buildings fell into decay, and were eventually demolished, bringing an end to the 14th century tombs of Henry, Isabel and the other Lancasters. [1]
