Be it known to all both present and to come that I Robert le Gurdelere have granted for myself and my heirs or assigns that it shall be fully lawful to Robert de Beauchamp (de Bello Campo) and his heirs or assigns to enter my tenement which I bought of Walram the (de) Cordewaner in the parish of St. Botolph without Aldredesgate, between a tenement of the same Walram on the north side and a tenement of Thomas le Perer on the south side, to make distraint in the form of the custom of the city of London for the rent of los. yearly in which I am bound to him for a certain tenement which the same Robert de Beauchamp demised and granted to me in the same parish, if it happen that he find not sufficient in that tenement which he demised to me for distraint in order to levy his rent. Moreover, I and my heirs or assigns will answer yearly to the said Robert and his assigns for the price at which the fruit on the branches of the garden which hang over {ultra) the tenement which he has demised to me may be valued by the view of lawful men, so that that fruit may remain to me and my heirs or assigns quit at the price aforesaid. In witness whereof I have put my seal to the present writing. These being witnesses :—John de la Blakethome, alderman, William le Fundour, Henry de War', Walter of Hongar', Matthew of Hungar, Ernulph Vilhackar, John Sarp, Hubert the goldsmith, John of Gildhalle, Alexander of Smethef[eld], clerks, and others. |

- In 1245, Alice's father issued the following charter:
Charter of the soke of Mohun, Westminster :—
Know those present and to come that I Reynold de Mohun have given, granted, and by the present my charter confirmed to Robert de Beauchamp {de Bello Campo) the younger with Alice my daughter in free marriage all my soke of Mohun, with all its appurtenances and liberties and with advowsons of churches within the city of London and without between Fleet Bridge {pontem de Flete) and La Charringe, as I or any of my ancestors have at any time more fully, better, or more freely, held the said soke ; to hold and to have to him and his heirs issuing from the aforesaid Robert and Alice, freely, quietly, well, and in peace, wholly, and hereditarily of me and my heirs for ever.^ I moreover Reynold de Mohun and my heirs and their heirs will warrant as aforesaid the aforesaid soke with all its appurtenances and its liberties within the city of London and without to the said Robert and Alice and their heirs issuing from them against all men and women, without any reservation. And that this my gift, grant [and] confirmation of the present my charter may remain valid [rata) and stable, I have put my seal to the present charter. These being witnesses :—Sir Roger de Turkeby, Sir James de Audeleg', Sir William de Mohun, Sir John B[r]etasch, Sir Nicholas le Lou {Lupd), Sir W. of Gyveltone, William son of Richard, citizen of London, Sir Philip of Couel', Sir Roger de la Doune, Sir Richard Jocelyn, Sir Payn de Clermount, and others.
