From time to time there are suggestions that Wyatt Moore had a child by Joanna Donnell, his first wife. The Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire states on page 199 under Samuel Donnell that Joanna and Wyatt were married in 1724. On page 490 of the same book, it states they were married in July of 1725. Adultery charges at that time in Maine were generally initiated in response to the birth of a child. Wyatt Moore was charged with adultery in November of 1725. If this is true, the conclusion would be that Joanna and Wyatt anticipated their marriage and had a child about 4 or 5 months after their wedding. Several family genealogists have named a child called Samuel Donnell Moore. |
