The nuncupative will of the father of Thomas Gleason, dictated on his deathbed in Cockfield on 19 March 1609/10, just three days before his burial:
Memorandum That the xixth day of Marche Anno dni 1609 Thomas Gleeson of Cockefeild in the countie of Suff husbandman beinge of perfecte mynd & memorie made and declared his Last Will & testament Nuncupative in manner & forme followinge viz First he Gave and bequeathed his sowle into the hands of All mightie
God trusting by the death & passion of Christ Jhesus to be saved. Item he also gave & bequeathed all his goodes & Cattels unto Anne his wiffe For terme of her liffe to bring up his children. And he willed that what she cold spare therof shold (after her decease) be & remaine to and amongest his said Children, and made the same Anne his wiffe executrix of this his Last Will and Testament in the presence of Mr John Knewstubb Robte Cadwile [?] and Elliott Kinge. |
