  	In 1755, when he was 9, he moved to Rutland from Medfield with his father. He lived for some time in Hubbardston, Massachusetts on a farm acquired from his father. He returned to Rutland and bought a farm near New Boston. He lived there the rest of his life. He was a member of the Rutland Minute Company and marched to Cambridge after the Alarm in 1775.
