History |
Sir Thomas was the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, treasurer of the King's household and a knight of the garter. At the meeting of Henry VIII and Frances I, Sir Thomas was one of the challengers against all gentlemen. The contests took place over a span of thirty days. When Edward VI died, Sir Thomas espoused the interests of Mary I. He was summoned to the privy council in the first year of Elizabeth I, and died 8 December that year. [1] |
