• General Information: John Lawrence was a plausible preacher, but not so good a man as his father. His father gave him St. James Parke in Elmham, after sold to Alderman Massam, who left it to Sir Wm Massam and he to his sonne, whose heire is now owner of it 1660. - M.S. Tanner.

• Deed: 1589, Fressingfield, Suffolk, England; Purchased the lordship of the manor of Fessingfield Hall in 1589.
• Will: 18 Sep 1609, Fressingfield, Suffolk, England; His will, dated 18 Sep 1609 in Fressingfield, identifies his son, Nathaniel: Unto Nathaniel Lawrence my son all my lands and tenements in Fressingfield, being freehold, to him and his heirs of his body lawfully begotten and to be begotten. And for want of such issue then to remain to all my children and their heirs forever. Unto the said Nathaniel Lawrence my son all my lease lands and tenements in Fressingfield and all my right title interest and term of years which I have of and in the same. All the rest and residue of my goods and chattels I bequeath to him Nathaniel my son, whom I ordain to be the sole executor of this my last will and testament. The will was witnessed by Henry Barker, Willm Sandwyste, and Robert Gyrlinge.
