In 1393, he became the 7th Baron de Ros.
He was summoned to Parliament from 20 November 1394 to 24 December 1413.
In 1403, he was made a Knight of the Garter.
From 1403 to 1404, he was the Treasurer of England. After two years, he was granted a 100 marks per year for the rest of his life by the crown.William married Margaret Fitz Alan de Arundel on 9 Jan 1394 in Starborough Castle, Surrey, England.
