He was one of the soldiers sent by Ipswich to disarm the Indian chief Passaconoway.

Theophilus took the Oath of Fidelity and Allegiance in 1650 in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

In 1653, the town of Haverhill gave him permission to "train or not according as he is able, proided he pay 12d a day to the Haverhill company" of Militia.

Theophilus Shatswell made a will on 20 June 1663 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. In it he mentions his wife, Susanna, and his two daughters, Mary and Lydia. The will was proved on 13 Oct 1663.

Theophilus married Susanna Bosworth on 1648 - 1651 in Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts. Susanna died about 1672. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
