Green, Latrobe, who had been an invalid for the past seven years. She was apparently in her usual health when she left here, her demise being sudden, following the effects of a paralytic stroke. She made her home in Canonsburg, with her daughter, Mrs. James H. McPeake, Lotus avenue. The body was brought to the Hopper & Hinton funeral home where it was later taken to her residence. Mrs. McMillen is survived by her son, George, Houston; Walter, Tiltonville, 0.; and sisters Mrs. J. H. McPeake, Canonsburg; Mrs. Isaac Cox, Bridgeville; Mrs. R. V. Bogart, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Charles Schriver, Ashtabula, 0., and the following brothers, John Green, Michael Green, all of Latrobe. She was a member of the International Bible Students' Association. Funeral services will be held at the McPeake home Wednesday at 3 p. m., in charge of C. E. Stewart of Pittsburgh. Interment in Oak Spring cemetery. Published by the Daily Notes, 23 June 1930

• Obituary: Taken suddenly ill, while at his work, at the Steel Spring Company's plant, this morning, W. H. H. Greene, was removed to his home, on Avenue C, where his death occurred at noon today. Last Monday, Mr. Greene and his wife celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, with the prospect that they had many more years of life together ahead of them. Last evening Mr. Greene felt ill but the indisposition passed away after a short time, and he believed it to be only a slight attack of indigestion. He went to his work as usual this morning as a heater in the open hearth department. He became violently ill about 11 o'clock and was removed to his home where his death occurred an hour later, of heart trouble. Mr. Greene was born in Indiana county in 1878, but had made his home in Latrobe since he was 14 years of age. He had been employed at the Steel Spring Company plant for the past 28 years. He is survived by his widow, who before her marriage was Miss Rebecca Kuhns, and the following children: James Wismer Greene, Harold William Greene and Gertrude Alice Greene, all at home. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary J. Greene, of Latrobe, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Charles Brindle and Mrs. Hewitt Ferrenberg, both of Latrobe, Mrs. Andrew Katton, of Bolivar, Charles Greene of Youngstown, and David Greene of Somerset.

• Obituary: Feb 2006; Sanders , Althea E. Latrobe Althea E. Sanders, 87, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital. She was born June 10, 1918, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Phoebe (Green) Brindel. Prior to her retirement, Althea was a sales associate for the former Troutman's Department Store in Latrobe. She was an active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Latrobe, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Latrobe Community Chorus and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 221. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Conrad L. Gordon and Ralph W. Sanders; three brothers, Paul, Charles and George Brindel; a sister, Ethel Mae Keller; and a stepson, Lee Roy Gordon. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Myers and husband, Kenneth, of Derry, Joanne Schandel and husband, Richard, of Derry, and Janet Moore and husband, Barry, of Tempe, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Jean Hartzell of Port Arthur, Texas; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bethany United Methodist Church with her pastor, the Rev. August B. Twigg, officiating. Everyone please go directly to the church. Private interment will be in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Members of the Latrobe Community Chorus will sing at 3:15 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Members of OES Chapter 221 will hold services at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home
