History: 5 Oct 1860, Shelburne Falls, Franklin County, Massachusetts; "A son of Orville Sherwin [and Betsey] of Shelburne Falls, 13 yrs old [b. c.1847], fell from the abutment of the Shelburne Falls bridge on Friday last [Oct. 5, 1860], striking on the rocks twelve feet below, breaking one wrist, bruising the other and battering his head and face.
