    • History: 1780; In later life, Thankful became insane and was cared for by her son, John. According to Morse (1855) this was an inherited trait of the Bullard family. Finally in 1792, she became so troublesome that Abner Morse was given guardianship over her. Abner was noted for his management of the insane.
