    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Living: 1720; When husband, Daniel, signed a receipt for his wife" in that year.
    • Complier's Note: 1995; Is Sarah Osgood her mother? You indicate also that Sarah Jane Colby might have been the child of John?s second wife, Sarah Osgood who married John sometime before 1700. If Sarah Eldridge had a child with John as late as 1692, then Sarah Jane Colby (who is the person here I am ultimately interested in, must have been born no earlier than 1692 or 1693. The problem is that Sarah Jane Colby married Daniel Flanders in May of 1701 and had a child the following January. I think this must mean that Sarah Jane Colby must have been born around 1680 and must have been the child of Sarah Eldridge. There is one line of thought that the two Sarahs are the same person and perhaps someone wrote down Eldridge or something like it instead of Osgood n the birth register. I wondered if you had any light to shed on this matter given your attribution of Sarah Jane Colby to Sarah Osgood rather than Sarah Eldridge. While Dunbar gives her mother as Sarah Osgood, the dates just do not match, unless she was married at two and had children at three. That the two Sarah's are one person is a possibility.

Sarah married Daniel Flanders on 1 May 1700 in Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts. Daniel (son of Steven Flanders and Abigail Carter) was born on 16 Mar 1674/75 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts; died in Mar 1735 in Amesbury, Essex County, Massachusetts. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
