Daniel Pond testified, "ten years ago, Benjamin Rice, of Sudbury, came to my house, in Dedham, with his feet frozen, and lodged there. Dr. William Avery's son, Benjamin, cut off one foot at the lowest joint, and stanched the blood with a musquash skin."
