• Married: 1659; Mary White She was born about 1633 in England. Mary was captured by Indians, with the rest of her family, except for Joseph, who was in Boston. • Ordained: 1660, Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts; He was the first minister of Lancaster, having begun to preach there in 1654.
• History: 10 Feb 1676; Joseph was away in Boston at the time of the attack on Lancaster, 10 February 1676. After Mary's ransom and release, 2 May 1676, Joseph preached in Boston and other towns without settling down.
• Moved to: Apr 1677, Wethersfield, Hartford County, Connecticut; He settled in Wethersfield to join the Rev Gershom Bulkley.
