History:
On 17 June 1285, he became Baron Ros upon the death of his father.
From 1295 to 1316, he was a Member of Parliament.
In 1296, he was one of the competitors for the Scottish crown through his Grandmother, Isabel, the natural daughter of William the Lion. For his battles in Scotland, Edward I granted him Hamlake Castle.
