• History: 1721; In the Spring of 1721, Thomas, in partnership with William Welde and Samuel Davis, purchased the Beron land in Oxford, Massachusetts of du Tuffeau. This was the land settled by the Huguenots in 1687 and held until that time. Later William Welde sold his share to his partners. Thomas' son, John, settled on this land.
• Land/House: 28 May 1735; The General Court of Massachusetts, gave four townships in the western part of the colony to those who had rendered service in the Canadian Expedition of 1690. • History: 1774; A deserter from the British troops stationed in Boston, before the out break of war, came to Thomas one evening begging protection. He was fed, and a hole made in the hay mow in the barn. The next day, soldiers came along, and while the stabbed the barn with their bayonets, the deserter was not discovered. That night, the deserter was sent with Thomas' son on two horses, with instructions to go as far as possible, allowing the son to return with the horses before daylight. It was said that a man returned many years later looking for the family how had saved him, but no one in the town knew of the incident.
• History: 1775; During the siege of Boston, Roxbury was often under fire from the British. When cannon balls started falling near by, the Thomas removed his family to a part of Roxbury beyond the range of the British guns.

• Military: 19 Apr 1775; At the time of the Lexington Alarm, he was in with General Putnam and joined with his Connecticut troops in their march to Boston.
• Military: 1776; He was appointed a Major in the Continental Army, and had a sword made up which was engraved Joseph Mayo 1776. It was silver mounted and cost $36.00.
